Family Trip to Cardiff Castle, Wales

Cardiff Castle is one of the most popular visitor attractions in Wales, it has a 2,000 year history. The castle was originally a Roman fort believed to have been built in 50 AD and gradually evolved into the castle you see today after changing hands many times over the centuries. It was transformed from a fort into a castle after the Norman Conquest, before becoming a sumptuous gothic sight after passing into the hands of the Bute family in 1766. Eventually, the castle was given to the city of Cardiff, which turned it into the visitor attraction it is today in 1974.

Now Cardiff Castle becomes one of the most favourite travel destinations from across the UK and the rest of the world. Visitors heading to the castle on UK weekends away can expect to spend up to four hours fully exploring the wonders of the building. You can also see some of the wonderfully decorated themed rooms and enjoy a guided tour of the lavish Victorian Castle apartments. If you're worried about the facilities available for children at the castle, there's little need for concern. Children can enjoy a special audio tour geared towards kids, while parking for buggies, food and milk warming services, baby changing facilities and children's meals are also on offer.

Fortunately, there is a wide variety of attractions to enjoy, there's absolutely to be one of the best family travel destinations.
